We are looking for a dependable and motivated individual to operate or assist with directional drilling (boring) and utility locating. This role is critical in installing underground utilities with minimal surface disruption and requires attention to detail, teamwork, and safety awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Operate directional drilling equipment (HDD) for underground utility installation
Locate and track drill head using electronic locating systems
Read and interpret bore plans and utility maps
Assist with setup, drilling operations, and cleanup
Maintain proper drill alignment and depth throughout bore
Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance
Work closely with crew members to ensure safe and efficient operations
Follow all safety regulations and job site procedures
Qualifications
Experience in directional drilling or locating preferred (but not required)
Familiarity with underground utilities and construction practices is a plus
Ability to read plans and understand grades/alignments
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Valid drivers license required (CDL a plus)
Dependable, team-oriented, and safety-focused
Preferred (Not Required)
Experience with Vermeer, Ditch Witch, or similar drilling equipment
Prior locating experience (Subsite, DigiTrak, etc.)
CDL or equipment operation experience
Knowledge of utility installation methods (water, sewer, fiber, etc.)
